Out of the Shadows Syrah presents itself with a deep cassis hue and a classic Syrah character. The nose is a graceful blend of violets, cassis, blackberry, and wild plums, enriched by licorice, bacon, and herbal undertones. As it evolves, the wine exudes a powerful and complex profile, incorporating tobacco leaves, espresso, and vanilla bean. On the palate, it starts with a concentrated burst of cassis, plums, and dark cherries, accompanied by licorice, mint, and sage. The tannins, tamed by 22 months of barrel aging, strike a harmonious balance. The mid-palate turns velvety with a mineral touch, and smooth tannins introduce exotic spices and bitter chocolate. Exceptional acidity and balance infuse liveliness and poise, while the finish is a long and elegant experience, characterized by tart cassis, black cherries, bitter caramel, and tobacco leaves, creating a complex and refined conclusion.
