Nestled in the shadow of the Sainte-Victoire massif, the Château Pigoudet vineyard is the northernmost in the Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence appellation. With its 40 hectares of
vineyards, facing due south at an altitude of 400 meters, it enjoys an exceptional location that greatly contributes to the success of its harvests. For several years, Château Pigoudet has restored its focus on nature and the environment and has embarked on a sustainable viticulture approach that emphasizes the use of “organic fertilizers” and advocates for the sparing treatment of vines on a case-by-case basis.
Wine
Causse du Theron
The Cause de Theron ‘Terrasse’ has ripe kirsch aromas on the nose with hints of dried fruit. On the palate, this wine has fresh acidity and delicate tannins with flavours of ripe blueberries, black cherries and plums supported by notes of dried cranberries and violets. This wine is crafted without the use of oak and makes a pleasant change from traditional heavily-oaked Malbecs from the New World. Causse de Théron is the result of a collaboration between Antonio Morescalchi of Altos Las Hormigas and Chilean vineyard soil expert Pedro Parra to learn more about Malbec’s home in France, Cahors. Surprised by the soil diversity, they couldn’t help but make a little wine from two vineyards owned by a local family. We love Antonio and Pedro’s other wines, which always seem to focus on minerality and pure fruit, often eschewing the softening impact of oak.
Casa Paladin
Poderi dal Nespoli
Poderi dal Nespoli is located in Emilia-Romagna, in the middle of the Bidente Valley (the first Bio-Symbiotic District in Italy) on the hills surrounding Forlì at about 177 meters above sea level, in an area that connects the Apennines on the border with Tuscany to the coastline (Riviera Romagnola).
An historical crossing point, today the area boasts places of naturalistic interest such as the Casentinesi Forest Park, as well as excellent soil and climatic properties suitable for the production of high-quality wines. The cellar was built following a very low environmental impact development perspective. Its architectural lines, the materials used and energy production plants are highly eco-sustainable. It has a capacity of 42 thousand HL, and is entirely built in stainless-steel tanks, most of which have controlled temperature storage.
Born in 1929 with the first productions of wine and olive oil, the winery was lead by the Ravaioli family 80 years. Today it is part of the Argea group.
Château Patache d’Aux
With a history that dates to 1660, this 63 hectare vineyard extends over the villages of Bégadan and Saint-Christoly du Médoc in the northern most stretches of the left bank. Located at just 10 kilometers from the Gironde estuary and 30 kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean, the vineyard enjoys an oceanic climate. The Château Patache d’Aux plots are located 10 kilometers away on two distinct geological formations. The principal vineyard is in Bégadan on the “Bégadan limestone” plateau. The second site on Saint-Christoly hill is set on terraces of alluvial gravel known as “Girondes.” Most of the vineyard is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
The oldest vines on Patache d’Aux vineyards are 88 years of age. From the 1930s to 1980s, Cabernet Sauvignon was the main choice grape variety here, before Merlot gradually moved in. The winery is managed sustainably and is HVE3 certified. Stéphane Derenoncourt is the consulting enologist and day to operations are run by Technical Director Giacomo Piubello.
Patache d’Aux is classic Médoc Claret, offering tremendous value.
Château Lafite Rothschild
arruades de Château Lafite Rothschild is the second wine of one of Bordeaux’s most legendary First Growth estates. Crafted in Pauillac, it reflects the elegance, precision, and sense of place that define Lafite, while offering a more approachable expression of the estate’s terroir. Sourced from select parcels and younger vines, Carruades is made with the same meticulous care as the Grand Vin, emphasizing balance, finesse, and purity of fruit. The result is a refined yet inviting wine that captures the classic Pauillac character — structured, graceful, and timeless.
