About the Winery
In 1978, Mountain View Winery was established in Morgan Hill, California. Spectacular vineyards were chosen from various regions throughout California that offer strong varietal character due to exceptional climate and soil conditions, including Monterey, Amador, Napa, Sonoma and the Central Coast. Mountain View is committed to the pursuit of ecologically sound practices and low carbon dioxide emissions, meaning production technology is always being updated.
Mountain View works with organic, dry farmed vineyards and focuses on sustainability and environmental impact. In the wine, quality standards are met with minimal use of non-organic fertilizer, pesticides or herbicides and added sulfites. Packaging is also consciously done – all glass bottles are produced with 75% recycled glass and cases are made from 85% post-consumer recycled paper. Mountain View’s label printer, Galaxy Press, was the first printer in Northern California to achieve green certification and all labels are made from biodegradable water based products.
