The estate is jointly owned by Franck and Sylvain Godon, two brothers continuing a family tradition that spans generations, focusing on producing high-quality crops from organically cultivated vineyards in the Loire Valley. While their ancestors sold their harvest to other producers, the Godon brothers are the first to produce and export their own wine. Both brothers play active roles in overseeing the vineyard and winery operations, with Franck specializing in winemaking. They nurture their grapes naturally, tending to the vineyard as if it were a garden.
Situated on an 8-acre property south of the Sancerre “montagne,” the vineyards cover the terroirs of St Satur, Chavignol, and Menetou RĂ¢tel. Here, two grape varieties are grown organically: Pinot Noir in the limestone-rich area and Sauvignon Blanc in the flint-rich soil. The distinctive flint imparts a remarkable and expressive character to the aromatic varietal. The brothers aim to showcase a beautiful, intense, and terroir-driven expression of their vines, a goal they successfully achieve with their range of wines.
