A vivid, powerful nose of wild berries, coffee, licorice and mint. Savory, gamey notes on the palate with an intriguingly long finish featuring suggestions of balsamic.
Vinous Media"The 2013 Barolo La Serra is laced with the essence of kirsch, spice, new leather, tobacco, licorice and menthol. High-toned and aromatically expressive the La Serra will drink well with minimal cellaring because of its soft, mid-weight structure. Beams of tannin extend the finish nicely. If opened young, the 2013 needs a few hours of air for the slightly volatile notes in the bouquet to dissipate. Overall, the 2013 is a bit eccentric, but it is well done." - Antonio Galloni, August 2017
James Suckling“Intense aromas of leather and tea with dried strawberry. Full body, round and chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Solid Serra.” - James Suckling, December 2017
