Dettori Renosu Rosso NV (750ml/12)
Tenute Dettori is an artisanal winery intrinsically tied to its territory, Badde Nigosolu, an amphitheater of 33 hectares (80 acres) of land at 750ft of elevation facing northwest to the Golfo dell’Asinara in Sardinia. Here, wine has been made for centuries, and many of Dettori vines are over a century old. At Dettori, technology and trends are banned. Harvests are done exclusively by hand; there are no fixed schedules, only the ones dictated by the will of Nature. No modern technology or chemicals ...New York, New Jersey, Massanois Imports
The color is an intense garnet withsome brick red hues. The nose has typical spices of cannonau like rosemary, myrtle, thyme and cloves with ripe red berries. The mouth isof a big wine but fresh, dry and zesty acidity. Itfinisheswith round tannins of a wine not completely dry. The flavors are of Mediterranean herbs with blue and black berries, cherry, cinnamon and orange peel.
Vinous Media"Bright red. Aromatic nose combines red cherry, strawberry and flowers, plus a whiff of volatile acidity that adds lift. Juicy and intense on the palate, showing a hint of residual sugar--as well as a suggestion of refermentation--to the expansive flavors of red cherry, flowers and spices. This energetic, youthful, uncomplicated wine will match perfectly with burgers and simple tomato-based pasta dishes. Dont hang on to it too long, though; Id drink up before the end of the year." - Ian D'Agata, Jan 2016
