Cobb Sonoma Emmaline Pinot Noir 2014 (750ml/12)
About Cobb Wines
At a time when so many winemakers follow trends, Cobb is one of the few who has the courage to follow his own convictions. Cobb gives his wines more time in barrel than is the norm. The wines are generally made with a high percentage of whole clusters, fermented with native yeasts and handled minimally in the cellar.” – Antonio Galloni, VinousMedia.com, March 2017

Wine Spectator"I wasn’t sure “infusive” was an actual word when I wrote it down after tasting this astonishing pinot noir made by Ross Cobb. In fact, it is a word: “Having the power or quality of infusion,” according to my musty old two-volume Webster’s. This comes from a foggy, shady site planted on sandy Goldridge soil, not far from Sebastopol—and the wine does seem to infuse the senses with an aromatic fog that you can almost walk around in, noting a spray of juniper, a lattice full of roses, the cool moisture of the soil. There’s a tightness to the structure that will reward aging, but the impression is one of inner strength rather than weight."
Vinous Media"The 2014 Pinot Noir Emmaline Ann Vineyard is a soft, open knit-wine with lovely citrus-injected brightness and intensity, but in the classic mid-weight Cobb style. The 50% clusters add lift, but are also very nicely integrated. The 2014 could use another year or two to soften. It is quite impressive and delicious, even at this early stage." - Antonio Galloni
