Cobb Sonoma Emmaline Pinot Noir 2013 (750ml/12)
About Cobb Wines
At a time when so many winemakers follow trends, Cobb is one of the few who has the courage to follow his own convictions. Cobb gives his wines more time in barrel than is the norm. The wines are generally made with a high percentage of whole clusters, fermented with native yeasts and handled minimally in the cellar.” – Antonio Galloni, VinousMedia.com, March 2017

This wine displays lovely aromas of raspberry, black plum, cherry and tangerine essence, alongside supporting notes of black rose, incense, forest floor, leather and spice. Planted at an elevation of approximately 800 feet with a Southwest exposure, Emmaline Ann generally gets more shade and fog than any of the other vineyards, contributing to a particularly delicate and sophisticated expression of Pinot Noir.

Wine Enthusiast
"This is a light, clear and beguiling wine, not for everyone, somewhat reduced and yet lurking in brooding fruit and interwoven spice. It drinks almost like a white wine in its shocking minerality, before delving into a dark and noble forest floor's worth of pine, wild mushroom and rose. Let this wine open awhile and enjoy how it changes in the glass." - Virginie Boone, Aug 2016Vinous Media
"Once again, translucence and transparency are some of the main signatures in the 2013 Pinot Noir Emmaline Ann Vineyard. Orange peel, autumn leaves, rose water and a host of exotic spices lift from the glass in a weightless, gracious Pinot Noir that speaks to subtlety above all else. Interestingly, the Emmaline Ann is the wine in this range that is most similar across 2012 and 2013, which suggests the site has a strong personality that perhaps dominates over vintage." - Antonio Galloni, Feb 2016
