Brittan Chardonnay 2014 (750ml/12)
Brittan Vineyards was founded by veteran winemaker Robert Brittan and his wife Ellen, who left Napa Valley to pursue their dream of making cool climate Pinot Noir in Oregon. The Brittan’s purchased their 128-acre property in the foothills of the Coastal Range in the McMinnville AVA, where they have 29 acres planted to Pinot noir, Chardonnay and Syrah. Robert brings extensive viticultural and winemaking experience to their venture, having worked as winemaker at Far Niente, St. Andrew’s ...New York, New Jersey, California
The Brittan Chardonnay is rich and expressive while still retaining subtlety and elegance. The nose is heady with notes of Meyer lemon curd and orange blossom, backed by hints of exotic cardamom, white pepper and vanilla. The palate is soft and round with pear and white peach, balanced by a refreshing, vibrant finish.
Wine Advocate"The 2014 Chardonnay is scented of guava, honeydew melons and ripe apricots with hints of honeysuckle, lightly buttered toast and praline. Medium-bodied with a satiny texture and great tropically flavored intensity, it has a lively backbone and long finish with some spiciness coming through." - Lisa Perrotti Brown
Vinous Media"Pale yellow-gold. Oak-spiced aromas of poached pear, tangerine and chamomile hint at buttered toast in the background. Smooth and open-knit, offering pliant orchard and pit fruit flavors and a bitter touch of quinine. Vanilla nuance on finish."
