About the Winery
In 1981, the adventure began when proprietor Marziano Vevey reluctantly inherited a 2000 square meter plot of vineyards from his father, who had enthusiastically farmed the land and produced just enough wine for himself, family and friends. Marziano, with little viticultural knowledge himself, could not bring himself to give up the land, so with determination and much-needed help from his wife, Judith, he resumed the work of his father.
Over the years, production increased from an initial 600 bottles annually to the current 5,000; in 1999 Marziano launched the Crotta de la Meurdzïe. This state-of-the-art cellar pays tribute to the ancient work of the mountain vignerons. Despite the modernity of the structure itself and of the plantings and equipment, the family’s attachment to the region’s roots and love for tradition are omnipresent.
